If you book your winter holidays South Tyrol at the beginning of December, don´t  miss the Krampus (Devils) parade! They are nothing but your mountain resorts inhabitants disguised as devils. They wear frightening mask and they go around your mountain resorts at dusk, armed with sticks. They parade in chariots making a lot of noise with their cowbells; they never take off their masks in public.

 

Tourists should never try to unmask a Krampus, it will be dishonourable for him/her...maybe your hotel manager is hidden under this mask. Maybe in everyday life he/she is a very competent and serious person, letting your winter holidays South Tyrol be very pleasant!
