The Stelvio National Park



The Stelvio National Park (Italian: Parco Nazionale dello Stelvio, German: Nationalpark Stilfserjoch) is the biggest national park in Italy, instituted in 1935. This national park is made up by 4 provinces, distributed among Lombardy, Trentino and South Tyrol. The South Tyrolean part of the national park offers fours Visitors´ Centers: three in Val Venosta and one in Val d´Ultimo. The Val Venosta Visitors´ Centers are: one in Prato allo Stelvio (German: Prad am Stilfserjoch), the other in Val Martello (German: Martelltal) and the other in Trafoi. The Stelvio National Park is the ideal destination for the guests wishing to know the South Tyrolean nature and animals in the mountains. Some endangered species live in the Stelvio Natural Park, such as: roes, rock goats, hares, badgers and weasels. Some of the birds living in the Stelvio National Park are owls, eagles, ossifrages…and many more. Come and discover them!
